The awards scholarship banquet was instituted in 1985 to promote and recognize outstanding service of individuals or businesses within the local community who have made a positive influence in the Wichita community and who have given unselfishly of their time, effort, and leadership.  Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority is proud to play apart in honoring individuals of such distinction each year.

Each year we highlight individuals in the following categories:  Golden Eagle Award, candidates over the age of 35; Twyla J. McFall Young Achiever Award, established in 1986 is given in memory of our beloved sorority member, Twyla J. In 2003 we established the following awards: Lifetime Achievement Award for individuals that have over 25 years of community service; Tri-Strand Award(Formally the Couple Award) given to a couplewho with faith, hope and love work together to improve their community in an outstanding way and the Entrepreneurial Awardgiven to a business that support the community through their work or good deeds.

The process of selecting honorees begins in the fall when letters are mailed to community organizations and past honorees.  If you would like to submit nominations for our Awards banquet, you may contact any active member of the sorority or mail to: Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, P.
